Tom Delaney's artwork expresses the dynamic world around him by highlighting contrasts and similarities in the environment. Delaney takes a multi-media approach letting the idea inspire the choice of materials and techniques. The series of works on his website feature three recent areas of inquiry centering around change and stability in the physical environment.
Delaney combined inspiration from regional ceramic traditions with the philanthropic and rehabilitation work of the local Raptor Center. Pieces from this series exhibited locally and nationally. A few years ago, Delaney won a grant to explore the flora and fauna on the rare dune lakes along the 30A highway in the Florida panhandle. Recently, Delaney received a grant to use alternative photographic processes to create cyanotype collages that capture the rapid urban change. The collages offer a “blueprint of change” as the city transforms and redefines itself.
Delaney’s work is in many local, regional and national collections.
