Tom Delaney's artwork expresses the dynamic world around him by highlighting contrasts and similarities in the environment. Delaney explores the threshold between humans and nature, old and new, static and fluid event through a multi-media approach.
The series of works on his website feature three areas of inquiry centering around the tension between change and stability in the physical environment. Past work explored animals in their challenging environments including a sculptural response to philanthropic and rehabilitation work of the local raptor center and a creative exploration of the flora and fauna on the rare dune lakes along the 30A highway in the Florida panhandle, for which Delaney won a creative exploration grant.
Delaney received an ASC artist support grant to use alternative photographic processes to create cyanotype collages that capture the rapid urban change. The collages offer a “blueprint of change” as the city transforms and redefines itself.
Delaney’s work is in many local, regional and national collections.
